You say you're apathetic, but empathy is all you feel.
I appreciate that you let me in along with the breeze,
but it is now all too much.
It’s time for you to close the doors, tired boy.

with a soapy bucket and ready hands
for when you unlatch that door once more
and let me in to dust away the cobwebs
you strung up yourself.

I know that with their goings, there will always be comings.

I ask for life and they send me fish.
I ask to know what is on the horizon and they pull me in.
