Half of the Half

I only know half of the half of you. I think it’s safe to say, that’s enough for now. Enough for me to believe you are doing what’s true to you— or, at least, half of the half of you. You are true to the path whatever ethereal being has set you on and I beg you to continue the trek, though, it may seem long. I think I am on mine, too, after being stuck in some steep trenches and thick brambles for some time.

From what I can see, our paths run together— for now, anyway.

I can’t see far, the fog of the future clouds the way. Our paths might fork down the line and we will say our goodbyes with the ethereal hand guiding us away and holding our heads high.

Maybe somewhere on our paths I’ll find the rest of you.

But for now, I am perfectly fine with taking in the scenery with only half of the half of you.

Notes: I originally posted this back in November 2021 (I think) and put it back in the drafts... for whatever reason. Our paths have gotten farther apart. He's on a hillside and I'm in grassy plains, but I think we'll meet at the river soon.
