Fruit on the Horizon

Recount the days that were the most fruitful.
Will they get you through your days of starving?
Can you eat the fruit of the past?
Or will they only make your stomach growl louder?
Are you supposed to trust your memory—something that has failed you a time or two before—in order to give you hope for the future and that there will be fruitful days on the horizon?
It is the absence of fruit that makes it taste all that much sweeter but will give you cavities along the way.

Author's note: does this make any sense? Or is this utter gibberish? Pulling it out from the drafts because I like the word "fruitful".
